Today, March 28, the CHS Symphonic and 8th grade bands, under the direction of Mrs. Heather McHenry, participated in a Virtual Concert in celebration of Music in Our Schools Month, along with five high schools in New Jersey. All schools used Zoom to project into other schools and remotely interacted with each other and listened to each other perform. The concert was adjudicated by Dr. Andrew Yozviak, Director of Bands at West Chester University. All bands did an awesome job!

On Monday, March 27, students had the opportunity to hear Kyle Quilausing's inspirational story of going from a top teen golfer, having earned 16 titles and ranking 4th in the world, and landing one of the best college scholarships to hitting rock bottom after he was expelled from high school , getting hooked on crystal-meth and going to prison. Now he visits schools, giving talks to students in the hopes that they will learn from his story and "to keep kids out of the dark hole that I fell into." He was well received by the student body. Thank you Kyle for sharing your story.

It was a day of service yesterday, Saturday, March 18, for a group of CHS students from the National Honor Society and the Leo Club, as they assisted Joe Paden, project manager for the cleanup of Union Asbury Cemetery. The NHS and Leo Club are advised by Mrs. Lindsay Tilghman and Mr. Randy Laird, respectively. The Union Asbury Cemetery is the largest African American cemetery in Crisfield encompassing 3 1/2 acres with over 700 known graves. Great job to all who came out!

Another successful field trip for Mr. Randy Laird's Government classes to Annapolis!
